Rough Trade-1990's

What problems did Rough Trade incur at the start of the 1990's?
At the start of the 90's, a lot of bad decisions were made and senior executives left, seeing no resolution to the endless arguments. People started getting fired and the company name had to be sold to help with paying off their debts.
What effect this this have on the record label and distribution?
The arguments between the record label and distribution was bring the company down. The managers walking out resulted in there not being any managers to deal with distribution. Also, lack of money meant that the company had to make some cuts; meaning dristribution was now unafforable.
How did major record labels brand out into the independent music scene?
Indie music had become very popular and was becoming mainstream. Indie artists were signing with major labels. A technique called vertical integration was being used; all of the record labels were working for one big company.

What actions were taken to revive Rough Trade?
Jeanette Lee was brought into the business in 1991 to revive it. They got new offices and began a search for new artists to work with. They knew that lack of managment was the reason for their downfall, therefore they worked as a management team rather then a record label.
